Last post before we leave Hokkan, and (in all probability) last post on LiveJournal!

Remember, you can continue to follow all my translation adventures - including the rest of Ibun - over on my new blog, Kotobanzai! And of course I'll keep the LJ around, even if I'm not posting in it, so people can hunt down old scenes and translations if needed.

Well, let's get right to it!

And we're done with Hokkan! (Or at least this version of it.... I will at some point have to go do the Hotohori dialog, too. Yaaay. :p)

I may take a week or two off from regular postings, since I'm trying to compile that Ibun PDF (and I'm in the middle of moving - busy times), but I will be back with Sairou as soon as I'm able. I hope to see you over at Kotobanzai soon!

Cheers,

Continuing my very recent trend of actually posting when I say I'm going to post, I've got a few "back and forth" bits of Hokkan dialogue for you today.

Two quick things before we get into it:
-Some locations have varying dialogue depending on when you return to them. I'll mark those when I find 'em.
-I've bracketed Nuriko's dialog, since you might not have it if you don't have Nuriko. I'm working on coming up with a real nifty "alternate dialog" code for the compiled PDF files, but until then you'll have to deal with this method.

Easy peasy, yeah? Then let's get into it.

And that's that! Not much else to say here. I'll pop back in on Saturday to finish up Hokkan, and then we'll officially move the translations over to Kotobanzai! Good plan? Good plan.

Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last posted. The time do fly, don't it? I do have some translation for you, but I also have some Important And Exciting News.

Important And Exciting News!Collapse )

...So like I said, lots to discuss. But I'm done now, and that means it's time for more Ibun! And let's go ahead and wrap up the Mount Koku multiverse with a slew of new and edited scenes, shall we? We shall!

Hm... you know, in my head, that was a much longer piece of translation than it actually was. (sweat) Oh, well.

I'm gonna try to double-post this week so I can wrap up the Hokkan Arc. All we have left is some alternate dialogue (returning to various locations) and the "Borderlands" location. Shouldn't be too hard for me to put together, assuming the RL doesn't get it the way. Silly RL.

And a little more sad for your Saturday (Sadturday?). Ah-hem...

Mount Koku Arc, AU: All Over But the Cryin'Collapse )

Well. That was cheery. *sweat* Now that I've put a damper on your weekend, I'd better get to work on future Upcoming Events. Because Events are happenings, you guys. I'm hoping to have an announcement next week, along with some happier Ibun. Well... happier-ish, anyway. Look forward to it(?). Sure. We'll go with that.

I didn't have time to post during the week (I warned you that might be the case), but I'm making up for it by giving you a big ol' chunk of Ibun in this post.

A sad chunk. A really, really sad chunk.

But first - look! The third episode of Ask Westeros is up! Cry havoc, and let slip the sharks of war! And don't forget to tell your friends~!

Now, back to Ibun... What you're getting this week is the arc that happens if you chose to search Mount Koku with anyone other than "Nuriko" or "everyone." So essentially the Tasuki/Chichiri bits I posted last week merge into this scene. Brace your feelings, friends.

And LJ is informing me that my post was too long, so I'll do the rest in a Part 2...

Ni-hao, minna-san!

As promised, I have a couple announcements before we get into the translation.

First - In case you missed it, the second episode of Ask Westeros is posted to YouTube (and IMO, it's better than the first). Tell your friends!

Second - I'm on tumblr now! Look at me, all up in the Internet Tubes. Come follow me: itsmethedee.tumblr.com. I don't automatically follow everyone who follows me, so shoot me a message either through LJ (or email) and let me know who you are, so I know that I know you, too. ^_^

Okay, announcement time over. Go-go Ibun translations! And once again we backtrack slightly, for another seishi path...

H'okay, that's all for today. I've got my hands a bit full with the new site (sites, actually - but more on that later), so I may not be able to post twice this week. But I'll definitely be back next weekend, where the multiverses merge to bring us one of the more painful moments in the Fushigi Yuu-niverse. Get'cho tissues ready, friends.

Cheers,
Dee

Ni-hao-minna-san!

I suspect I'll have a few announcements to make over the weekend, but for now let's just stick to the translations.

We're rewinding back to the beginning of the Koku Arc this week, with some seishi one-on-one time and the mood-killer to end all mood-killers. I'm keeping the segments a bit short this time around for organizational purposes, so we'll just have Tasuki in this post. And so, Gen-chan, if you'd like to take it from here...?

Oh Big Brother, you are the worst. :p

I'll post Chichiri's bit next time. It's considerably less fluffy, but still lots of fun.

Ni-hao, minna-san!

Three posts in a week! Who knew being done with grad school would make me so dang productive?

Two things before we get to Ibun:

First, the first episode of Ask Westeros continues to be Tubed for You. Tell your friends. #AskWesteros

And second, in an attempt to more effectively plug my projects - including Ask Westeros (tell your friends!) - I've finally become active on Twitter under the handle @TransitionDee. (It's a basketball pun. Because of course it is.) Follow me if you dare. I do not have GPS.

We now take you back to your Regularly Scheduled Translation.

Mount Koku Arc, Pt. 6: Cave of WondersCollapse )
--------

And the Koku Arc is complete! *throws confetti* Well, one version of it anyway. Our next few (read: several) posts will backtrack to the beginning of the Koku Arc and take you through what happens when you pick individual seishi (Tasuki and Chichiri, specifically). The differences here are far more dramatic than any AUs we've handled previously, so hold onto your kasas, gang!

I will absolutely be posting next weekend, because I'm a Responsible Blogger On A Schedule, now, but I'm hoping I'll actually be able to do some bi-weekly posts for a bit here. So fingers crossed I'll be back around Wednesday with some seishi shenanigans to brighten your humpdays.

Cheers,
Dee ~_^

Surprise, non-Ibun post, but I've got some exciting stuff to share with you.

So remember a few months ago when I made some vague comments about "other projects" I was working on? Well, I didn't want to jinx it by talking about it in advance, but now that it's actually happened, I can jump around and squee a little bit.

This past winter, the Internet Nerd Comedy Troupe Not Literally began work on a 12-episode web series called "Ask Westeros," a show where the characters from Game of Thrones answer submitted questions and give (terrible) life advice. This was a big, big project, and NL recruited a small army to contribute to it. Aaaandyours truly had the honor of working as one of the writers. Puttin' those fanficcin' skills to use!

The first episode was released today, and I know I'm contractually obligated to say this, but it's pretty great (and I think our best jokes are actually in later episodes). So all you GoT fans (and that has to be, like, 90% of you, right?) should watch it, have a good chuckle, and then share it on LJ, FB, Tumblr, Twitter... really anywhere you can spread the word of #askwesteros would be seriously awesome.

And oh look, you don't even have to search for it! I did that part for you! Enjoy!

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Cheers,
Dee ~_^

Happy Spring Season Premiere Week, everyone!

I don't know if I've mentioned this recently, but I love the future. Remember when you used to have to wait 3-5 years for an anime series to get released on dub-only VHS? Or when you had to spend an hour downloading a single fansubbed episode? Or bootlegs! Please tell me the rest of you remember the magnificent anime black market of really, terribly subtitled bootlegged DVD box sets?

And now? Legal, simulcast anime delivered straight to my television, a mere 6-12 hours after it's aired in Japan! God bless you, Digital Age. You've made being a nerd so very much easier (not to mention affordable).

So far Spring 2014 looks like it has the potential to be something special. But then, I thought that last year and a lot of the shows turned out to be a bit disappointing down the stretch, so we'll see. Fingers crossed that the rest of the season will live up to the promise of its premieres. Either way, we get more Mushishi, and no season featuring Mushishi could be considered a bad one. ^_^

Oh, right—I didn't just come here to talk like an old person. I'm aiming to get the Koku Arc wrapped up by Sunday, so I figured I'd sweep in today with Part 5, then finish everything up with Part 6 this weekend. So let's do that, shall we?

--------

Mount Koku Arc, Pt 5: Ghost HuntersCollapse )

--------

That's all for now! I'll be back sometime this weekend with the end of the Koku Arc. Until then, enjoy your (hopefully) nice weather, and try not to OD on anime pilots.

Cheers,
Dee ~_^
